Come read the (in)sane ramblings of a 20-something who has nothing better to do than (in)sanely ramble! There's also stuff about hermit crabs.

SPRING INTO SEPTEMBER!

Hey all, it’s been a while – and what a busy while it’s been! Hope you’re all well and have recovered from the fact that ¾ of the year is done and gone. Before we know it, it’ll be 2007.

It’s Saturday mornin’ here in rainy Geelong. Melz is off sailin’ the big blue from Queenscliffe to Hastings. I’m wishin’ her all the luck, considerin’ the last time she did this race she nearly ended up with hypothermia and spent most of the trip vomiting. Joy.

Blake is in bed. He got home from birthday drinks with his mates at about 4.50am, which was about 40mins before Melz left. So, as you can imagine – I haven’t had much sleep. I got home from drinks about 12.15am and had to get out of bed at 7am to be at work to open at 8am. I stayed at work for an hour till Victor got in and I’m going back at 12pm to work till closing.

At the moment I’m in the middle of a 12 day work stretch. Victor is taking time off (to go to a conference mind you) for the first time in 4 years! Can you imagine? I bitch and whinge about 12 days straight – he’s worked practically 7 days a week for the last 4 years. Crazy!

So, at the moment that’s my life – work. However, there are some interesting events comin’ up in September, which is great. Thursday was Blake’s b’day. He came over for dinner (chicken risotto and half set trifle!). Then last night he had dinner and drinks with family and friends at The Max (one of the local pubs). That was really good and I have some pics to post – it was nice to see everyone there.

Next Saturday is lil’ Timmy’s second birthday, then afterwards I’ll be goin’ to Melbourne to see Nan – haven’t caught up with her much lately. The weekend after that we have a mixed tournament at the tennis club. On the Grand Final weekend we’ll be goin’ to Lauren’s 21st in Melbourne where we’ll get to catch up with Melanie – yay! That’s gonna be a fun night – it’s a black and white party. Then Melz and Mat leave for Europe and Mum, Dad, Nan, Yvonne, Bobby, Minnie and I think Mary all leave for New Zealand! In between all that there’s also Mum, Dad and Simon’s b’day plus the St John tin shake (ya all donate now ya hear) as well as a surprise party for Blake’s Uncle! I don’t know when I’ll find time to breathe.

Tennis is finished until the middle of October but volleyball is keepin’ me active. It’s a lot of fun, but a lot harder than it looks. We’re battling on. A couple of us have also started havin’ a movie night on Wednesdays. Blake, myself and Quinton (from St John) have been gettin’ together for a few weeks now. Each week one person picks the movie, one person cooks dinner and the other person brings dessert. It’s a lotta fun. So far we’ve watched mostly war movies – The Lost Battalion and We Were Soldiers. Last week we watched History of Violence – which, I warn you, is crap! Very boring and predictable. Next week it’s my pick and I’m educating the boys with some foreign culture (no not Chinese Kung Fu movies!). We’re watching Life is Beautiful – if you haven’t seen it, rent it soon. It’s a very uplifting story – with subtitles (it’s Italian).

Couple of exciting announcements – Brom had a baby boy (Cooper). I’ve only spoken to her briefly on MSN, but she seems fine and Cooper is gorgeous. Congrats to Brom and Aaron for bringing such a wonderful lil’ entity into the world! Michelle and Sean are due soon, but not sure when exactly. Jaz is comin’ to Geelong over New Year’s! Woohoo – can’t wait Princess. Vicky is also comin’ for an Australia visit in April – until then SBSIL! I got a bed – for those of you who are interested! Hee hee. What else? That’s about it I think… sorry if I’ve forgotten somethin’. I’ll be sure to ad it next time.

Well I’d better get movin’ as it’s 10am and I’m yet to cook brunch (egg, bacon, mushie, tomato and cheese toasted sandwich!). Have to go drag the boy outta bed. Then it’s dishes ad back to work! Ahh… lovely.

Have a great weekend ya all and thanks for droppin’ in. Sorry I haven’t updated much lately.

Cheers, keep smilin’

Love Rhian
