Come read the (in)sane ramblings of a 20-something who has nothing better to do than (in)sanely ramble! There's also stuff about hermit crabs.

Are you a believer?

‘’I don’t care what you believe – just believe it.’ Shepherd Book – Serenity.
Come on guys, I wanna hear what you have to say about this. Do you believe in something? It doesn’t have to be a god, a higher being or anything related to religion. But have you ever risked everything in the name of something you believe? Something you think to be an important truth in your life?

It could be anything, like – I believe that whale hunts are cruel, so I donate to (insert name of charity organisation), or I believe John Howard is the devil’s spawn so I choose not to vote for him, or I believe that LTS (life’s too short) so I’ve devoted my life to crazy stunts and beer.

I know some of you may have a lot of little beliefs about important things, but what’s the one big thing you believe and follow every day? It could be some goal you’re working towards or it could be something simple like – I believe in treating everyone as I would like to be treated myself, so I endeavour to do that throughout each day.

And what is it about belief? Does it drive us? Can we survive without it? What happens when you don’t know what you believe in or worse still, you are scared to follow it?

The almighty Joss Whedon believes in belief. Check out his film Serenity, it looks at the philosophy of belief, but not in some dull, deep and meaningful way - in a gunslinging kinda way.

I believe in 'right' & 'wrong'.

I know that concepts of right and wrong can vary but I truly believe that no matter what the culture or place there should always be clarity on what is 'right' and what is 'wrong'.

You know... its interesting how careful you have to be when you talk about a topic like this, because ascribing to some beliefs may mean that you a priori have to prescribe to other beliefs, otherwise you can be accused of being contradictory or hypocritical...

For eg. D's statement about right and wrong. For there always to be clarity on what is right or wrong, we either all learn the same things about right or wrong, or we are born with a knowledge of right and wrong (innate knowledge).

In this case, D must believe in one of the choices above (or a logical alternative) if she believes that everybody has the same concept of right and wrong.

The moral? Be wary what you believe in.

Hmmm, what do I believe. Well I believe that even though I don't speak French I am doing very well navigating myself around "Much Ado 'Bout Nothin'" which is in French at the moment. Now that might be because I work for a French company in their London office but their computer program language setting is in French so I am doing some guesswork here... but still, it's impressive *looks to blog crowd for praise and admiration at computer skills*

But if you want me to get "deep" (a shocking idea in itself)
I believe in God and Karma. I don't care what people say, I believe people get punished for their bad deeds sooner or later... even if the person they injured doesn't see them get their comeuppence.

On a lighter note I think more people should take Jas's lead and visit me in London... free accommodation people! And in London that is a VERY good thing!

And another thing... I believe violence may occur quite soon if I don't stop hearing the Black-Eyed Peas "Pump It" 10,000 times a day. Honestly, it's almost as bad as having James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" played!

Hello Ick?
Are you still hangin' around? I'm sorry, I didn't realise you had re-posted! How are you my love? Are you at work? What time is it over there? It's about 8.15pm here, as you can prolly tell by the blog time.

I've been on here way too long and should go cook my very English 'bangers and mash' for tea. My cook is off for the night - she's having dinner at Matt's.

Hee hee! You're bloggin' at work - nice.

Would you like me to send you some snags? I got mine from work, they are only the best snags Geelong has to offer!

Melz just called me - to tape her show! How rude! So I spent the last five minutes runnin' around tryin' to find the right tape (which is doubly hard cause she doesn't label 'em) then set the whole thing up!

I know, I know, I'm havin' a whinge. But it's hard when ya gotta juggle so many tasks at once.

Anyways, it's a crap show! Prison Break... ugh! If ya want prison drama gotta watch Oz.

So, what are you up to at work, apart from commentin'? Is it a fine mornin' in the L? It's bloody freezin' here.

It is indeed a fine monring in "L" ... about to go out and buy some sushi for the managers for a meeting, mainly just sitting here and answering the phone and sorting the post and looking at the internet. Typical day really. As I am new they are letting me settle in first before giving me some more duties. Got holidays for when Smin come over... can't believe its just over a week away, I'm very excited. Wish you could come over though.
Have no desire to watch Prison Break, we have it over here too and it just looks like crap. wow, some guy has tattoos all over his body. How interesting... who gets thrown delibrately into jail anyway?

8:49 pm

Oh... I don't know, if it were Melz in jail for a crime she didn't commit... I'd be tatooing up and gettin' slammed! Not! (Sorry Melz, but my sisterly love just don't go that far.)

Sushi! Mmm... now I am gettin' hungry. Should really go eat.

I can't believe Smin is gonna be there in a week and a bit. Has she finished work at JHG yet? Cause I been sendin her emails and they mustn't be workin'.

You two gals better get up to all sorts a trouble now, ya hear? Including stalkin' big broguish scots men and visitin the ministery of silly walks. Just for me, ok?

I hear and I obey... mmm, thinking about sushi has made me feel hungry now as well. Perhaps I 'll have some for lunch as well... or maybe I'll have a tuna sandwich... so much choice!
The ministry of silly walks is actually our first port of call... then we are going to visit the Knights Who Say Ni and perhaps watch a re-enactement of the battle of pearl harbour... I'm half expecting the Spanish Inquisition though... grrr.
Smin is still at JHG... I know she is getting my emails.
Anyway better go get sushi and set up room

Ooohhh. I like the sound of that... especially if it involves what I think it involves.
By the way thanks for the pic, I will attach it to my name as soon as I figure out how to. All the instructions are in French... which isn't surprising as I work for a French company.
The greeting was very much appreciated by the way... take that Smin!
